Golf Outfits for Men: Course-Ready Polos, Hats & Bags

What to wear golfing — polos, performance hats, headcovers, and the bag for the full tee-to-clubhouse kit.

Golf course dress codes have loosened — but the bar for looking pulled-together has not. The goal is simple: clothes that move with your swing, breathe in the sun, and still photograph well at the 19th hole.

We curated this lookbook around three rules: collared, never clingy, and always built from a fabric that wicks. Pair a performance polo with a snapback that resists sweat stains, dress up your bag with a premium leather headcover, and you're already ahead of the foursome.

What to wear to a country club

Collared shirt, tailored shorts or chinos, soft-spike or leather sneakers. No denim, no athletic shorts, no graphic tees. When in doubt, layer with a quarter-zip — it reads polished even over a basic polo.

Fabric to look for

Anything that says 'moisture-wicking,' 'performance pique,' or includes a small percentage of spandex (2–8%) for stretch. UPF 50 is a bonus on hot rounds. Avoid 100% cotton — it absorbs sweat and stays heavy.

Dress your bag, not just yourself

Premium PU leather driver headcovers signal the same thing a good polo does: you take the small details seriously. Match the headcover tone to your shoes for an extra-clean setup walking off the first tee.
